What dog breeds come in copper color?

Copper-colored dogs are one of the most unique and sought-after canine colors. Breeders have spent years experimenting to find the perfect mix of genes for a copper-hued fur coat, and today there are several breeds that come in that beautiful color!

The most common breeds of copper-colored dogs include the Weimaraner, Vizsla, Redbone Coonhound, Red Setter, Irish Setter, Hungarian Vizsla, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Bracco Italiano, and German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP). Each of these breeds typically has a solid copper coat with some slight variations or shading on certain patches. Some rarer mixes may also display small spots or darker shades along their backs.

It should be noted that a dog’s coat color can change over time due to various factors such as genetics or age. For instance, some puppies may be born with different colored spots which will eventually fade away as they become adults. As such it’s important to always do research into a breed before deciding if it is right for you!
