Komondor History

During World War II, the Komondor population suffered as much losses as the Kuvasz. After that, the direction of breeding changed: while earlier the emphasis was on the preservation of ancient values, later the aesthetic appearance became important. The outer coat became more ribbon-like, corded, the cream-colored shade disappeared, and the Komondors became larger. With that, the ancient good qualities of the breed, courage, loyalty, and dignity didn't disappear.
