Kelpies are normally chosen over collies because they have greater ability to predict the owners wishes and needs. They make terrific Search and Rescue dogs and tend to have a better 'off' switch than collies.

Although the kelpie was established as a breed earlier they actually come from the same original dogs in Scotland. They are usually a bit larger than a border collie.
